Shauna Cantwell, DVM
Hello, I’m Dr. Shauna Cantwell
Welcome to my new home on the web. Your horses and your pets are more than just animals. Whether they are part of the family or competitive athletes, they are always treasured. When they are in need of well-being, or care for illness or injury, you want a thorough and knowledgeable approach from someone who can offer more than the basics and thinks outside the conventional box. My mission is to create a new and better medicine through comprehensive care, research and education.
I have been a practicing veterinarian since 1989 in Canada, and broad experience has brought me to this point in my career. I started out as an equine/mixed animal practitioner, specifically based on my extensive equine competitive background. I then spent a number of years in small animal general and emergency medicine (all the while continuing to ride and show). My interest in detail and physiology brought me to specialize in Anesthesiology in 1998, with board-certification and a Masters degree concentrating on respiratory physiology. This phase of my development created a strong focus in education, respiratory and neurophysiology, and pain management. For more information, see my “about” page.

I am so grateful to have found this Dr. and place for my puppy! Truly an answer to prayer! I've never had such thorough and thoughtful treatment at a vet office before. It's very clean and welcoming. The entire staff is so wonderful!! I am very impressed with the knowledge and real ability to solve problems, not just medicate! I highly, highly recommend this office! Dr. Shauna and her staff are awesome!! My little beagle came in for skin issues he's been dealing with. Within 3 days of him being on his herbal treatment, we noticed a tremendous change! His yeasty smell began going away and he was scratching less often. The whole experience in the clinic is amazing. The exam rooms are quite spacious and calming for you and for the fur baby. The exams and treatment plans are thorough and get to the root problem. I Highly recommend Dr.Shauna!! 😄Mistaken I.2/13/2019
